21 Months

Although I am sad that Lily is another month older, I am getting really excited because that means another month closer to having a new baby!

- The picture above is Lily with her baby. She wanted baby to come outside with her but Lily told me it was cold! So I put baby in her jacket and zipped it up! Lily loved that.
- She is great at following directions! When she gets something out to play with and I tell her to put it away because its bed time or something- she puts it back right where she got it!
- She is getting sneaky. We are finding her sippy cups and toys in every corner of the house!
- Sacrament has gotten A LOT better. We used to have to leave all the time or just sit in the hallway the whole time. But the last few weeks she has been a great girl and is quiet and good during sacrament.
- She was doing AWFUL at sleeping. She would get up every night around 1 and would scream and scream until we put her in bed with us. It was awful. So this last week we had to re-sleep train her. And after about 2 nights of screaming for almost an hour, I am happy to report she is sleeping through the night again! Which means we are sleeping through the night too!
- She is getting confused with the words mama and dada. She thinks they are interchangeable. Steven is trying not to respond to her when she calls him mama and I won't respond when she calls me dada.
- I have decided that after Christmas I am going to start hard core potty training. I am 99% sure she is ready. She tells me when she has filled her diaper, she follows direction and understands what I say (a potty training book told me that is a sign), she already sits down on her little pink potty and I would love to not have to buy twice as many diapers when the new baby comes!
- She is getting a sense of wit. She actually makes fun of us, like mocks us! And she loves to retell stores about what happens during the day. I know that doesn't make sense but let me explain. One day we were trying to load up in the car so I opened up the side door to the driveway and I turned around to grab Lily and when I turn back around the UPS man is standing in my door way. I screamed! Lily started laughing soooo hard. Steven was also home when that happened. So the whole time we were in the car, she kept saying, "Mom, you went ahhh" (screaming noise) and then she would giggled a lot. She told me that story over and over over. It was pretty funny.
- She has a great memory. When we pull up to her friend's house she will say, "Mom, Gracie's house?" And she is remembering her friend's names.
- She has awesome eye sight. We were in some gym the other day and there were balloons way up in the ceiling and I didn't even notice them. But Lily starts saying, "balloons, balloons, balloons!" and starts pointing to them.
- She has great hearing. The second she hears a plane she looks up in the sky and starts looking and saying "plane, plane, plane!"
- She only has 2 trucks. Between all her jewelry, baby dolls, and other toys, she is in love with these 2 trucks. She wants to sleep with them, constantly hold them, she loves those trucks!
- She is so cuddly and loving. She is so sweet. One night I was watching a TV show and started crying and she went into the bathroom and got me some toilet paper and gave it to me!
- She likes to go run and hide from us and have us find her.
- I thought we would have a problem with Christmas presents under the tree but she has only opened one so far and after that, she hasn't touched them since.
- She will be a big sister in 3 months!!!
- She still doesn't eat very much but she is getting better. We started putting a little chocolate in her whole milk and she is drinking a lot more milk.
- Grocery shopping is awful. I am going to have to start going when Steven can go with me or he can stay home with her. Which will be a nice break for me!
- She loves to put things down her shirt and watch them come out the bottom of her shirt. But I started putting oneies on just to help layer to keep her warm and she is getting very confused why stuff won't come out of her shirt!
- She has know how to jump for awhile but she finally made the connection when someone says jump, she jumps!
- She started do all the actions and responding to Dora and Sesame Street. It's so cute!
- She is recognizing pictures in books and can identify what they are. Like if she sees a ball in the book, she points and says ball!
- She likes to growl like monsters in her books.
- Lily has a posse that she has to go to bed with. Her posse includes: Baby, Baby's blanket, Dollie, Backpack (Dora), Boots, and 2 toy cars. And when she wakes up in the morning, we have to get every single person out of her crib so she can hold them.
- Her baby doll cries when you squeeze it so whenever baby cries, Lily will cradle the baby in her arms and say "shhh"
- She loves to have us burrito wrap her baby in a blanket. Its really cute!
- Since I started to set up stuff for our baby that is coming in March, Lily thinks that all the tiny stuff is for HER baby. She has gotten out the newborn diapers and asked us to put a diaper on her baby. She has taken out the tiny shoes and put them on her baby. It's really funny.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, I have taken a lot in the last month but I already posted most of those pictures from Thanksgiving and stuff. Next month I will have more! Thanks!
